The Windward/Leeward (W/L) Course family supports the classic 'sausage' race course used around the world. It uses the least number of marks, and is the easiest to set-up and manage; however, it can be boring, especially during a multi-day regatta. However, even with the use of more complex courses such as the Trapezoid, the W/L course will continue to be an indispensable course for Race Officers.

Typically, the W/L course supports one type of fleet with specific parameters for boat LOA, Average Speeds, Tacking Angle, and Target Race Time. ezTrap automatically adjusts the W/L length to meet the Target Race Time of the fleet regardless of how many rounds.

The standard W/L course support variations of 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 legs. The 3, 5 & 7 variations have a variable upwind finish leg above or below Mark 1, and are also known as the S-1, S-2, and S-3 variations in the Lipton Cup Course Family.

All ezTrap courses work with one spreadsheet tab per course, and an adjacent tab that contains a summary of notes about the course. For detailed information about ezTrap courses, please download the User's Manual.
